I read The Gift of the Magi. A woman, Della was crying alone because she didn’t enough money that she can buy Christmas present for her husband, Jim. The couple was poor, but they have only two pride. One was Jim’s gold watch and the other was Della’s long hair. However, she decided to sell her precious hair and she bought a platinum fob chain for him. He also sold his precious watch and bought a pure tortoise shell comb for her. They sacrificed their precious things for each other.
This story made me so happy. Although they didn’t have money, they are quite considerate. I think the couple is nice. I was impressed that they sacrificed themselves for partner. I think people don’t mind sacrifice for people they love. I sometimes buy presents for my family and friends. I buy the presents because I want to see their happy faces. My heart became warm by reading this book.
